Child Rights Act
ROHI is super proud to witness the passing of the Child Rights Act into law as strides have been made with the Children’s parliament to push for this cause. We have actively participated in the courtesy visits, Radio programmes, symposiums geared at urging the government to implement the Act. The Borno state Government has approved and signed the implementation of the child rights act. This was on the 10th of January, 2022. UNICEF congratulated children in Borno state as the Governor; Prof Babagana umara zulum signed the Borno state child protection bill into law making an end to years of effort to provide a legal framework that recognises the rights of children in the state to education, health and protection from all forms of abuse. The event was organized by special committees on violence against persons, justice and judiciary on the domestication of child rights.
